As part of Canoe Wales's campaign for fair, shared, sustainable access to waters in Wales, we’re keen to encourage Canoe Clubs and other paddling groups in Wales to undertake regular River & Beach Clean-Ups to demonstrate how seriously the paddling community takes the protection of our natural environment.
One really easy way to “be part of a truly epic community response to plastic pollution on our beaches, rivers, streets and mountains” is to use the resources provided by Surfers Against Sewage to support their Big Spring Beach Clean Summit to Sea event , taking place from 6 to 14 April 2019 . Individuals can find their nearest Clean-Up or volunteer to lead their own at www.sas.org.ukor by emailing beachcleans@sas.org.uk. All Clean Leaders will receive a Big Spring Beach Clean kit, a limited edition SAS insulated Hydroflask, a step-by-step guide to organising their clean, along with support and guidance from the SAS Team in organising their event.
If you are organising any Clean-Ups, whether as part of the Big Spring Clean or separately, please do let us know what you’re doing so we can help to promote all the good work that paddlers do in Wales to protect and enhance our natural environment (simply email details to waterways@canoewales.com ).
Clean ups - part of our Clear Access Clear Waters Campaign – fair shared sustainable open access!
